My inspiration for many of these paintings has come from archive vintage film from the Screen Archive South East, seeing those smiling faces in the sun at garden parties, scout camps, weddings, and beaches is both nostalgic, heartwarming and a little sad. We have not had this type of a year. Some of the work refers to another of my favourite themes – 60’s hippies/ free love era. Oh, and 70’s witches.
